He afterward went to Flint, Michigan, and in 1860 arrived in Coldwater. He was then a young man of Twenty years, possessing energy, determination and Laudable ambition. he here established a meat market and for forty-two years has continued in the same line of buisness in this city, being one of its most reliable and representative business men......In 1866 Mr. Watson was united in marriage to Miss Olive Smith, a daughter of General Davis Smith, who won his title through service in the Black Hawk war. Mrs. Watson was born in Tecumseh, Michigan, and came to Branch county in 1851......Three children came to bless the home, but one has passed away. The daughter, Laura S., is yet with her parents. The son, Robert Howard, married Miss Blanche Dunham of Coldwater and now follows farming in Girard township, this county. They have one son, Robert. The younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Watson, Lizzie Emaline, became the wife of W.S.
