Ruby was born on Feb. 19, 1911, in Frankford, Mo., to John and Flora Spencer Fuqua. She was married to Jesse Allen Chatfield on Aug. 7, 1926, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death in January of 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Schulten (Bud) of Hannibal, and Jessica Ralls (Larry) of St. Charles, Mo.; Alan Chatfield (Rita) of North Richland Hills, Texas; six grandchildren, Kristy Trevathan (Jeff), Lisa Shores (Kim), Melissa Bleile, Bryan CHATFIELD, Jim Ralls and Laura Ralls; and nine great-grandchildren, Emily Trevathan Harmon, Kristen Shores, Andrew Shores, Lindsey Ralls, Adrian Petrosian, Shayla Ralls, Jonathan CHATFIELD, Jessica Bleile and Keith Bleile. Ruby had previously worked as a nurse's aide for many years and she was also a homemaker. She loved to spend time with her family and was known for her excellent cooking, especially her wonderful apple pies. Ruby was a Baptist by faith and she attended the Ilasco Methodist Church. OBITUARY Margarette Jones died about 4 o'clock Saturday, May 7, 1904, aged 73 years, 6 months, and 9 days, and was borne to her last resting place, Monday, May 9, followed by the bereaved husband and family and many relatives and friends. She was born in Cass County, Illinois, and was married to Harvey Jones on October 20, 1854. They moved to Kansas in 1881 and settled in Pleasant township, their present home. At the age of sixteen she joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of Highland United Brethren Church at the time of her death. The place left vacant in the home, in the community and in the Church can never be filled. "Aunt Mary" will be missed. The home has been a refuge for any seeking help or sympathy. So upright has been her life and so loveable her disposition that even the slandering tongue has been silenced. No one could think evil of "Aunt Mary" much less to speak it. She set us an example that is worthy, and though death she speaketh. She was one of those who carry "oil in their lamps" andthough the coming of the Bridegroom seemed unexpected she was prepared and has gone in to the marriage supper of the Lamb. |

The late Mrs Chatfield died at her residence, Wallangra, Ocean street, Woollahra, on Saturday last. Tho deceased leaves a family of five daughters as follows -Mrs E Gjedsted (Western Australia), Mrs J C Waine, Mrs G R Blundell (Melbourne), Mrs C Edwards, and one unmarried. The funeral took place at Waverley yesterday, the remains being interred in the Church of England portion of the cemetery. There was a good attendance of relatives and personal friends of the family.
