The widow of a doctor killed in a road accident took out a Supreme Court writ yesterday claiming- £25,000 damages for herself and her three children.

She is Mrs. June Edna CHATFIELD, of Herbert st., Mornington, widow of Dr. Kenneth George CHATFIELD, who was killed when his car and a car driven by Walter Benjamin Ashcroft, of Peronne st., Pascoe Vale, collided. The accident occurred at Mornington on December 30 last year. Dr. Chatfield was 33.

Mrs. Chatfield sued Ashcroft on behalf of herself, her daughters, Elizabeth June, 5, and Jo Anne, 2, and her son, Robert Fenton, 4.

No wedding plans until the end of next year is what June Roberts, whose engagement has just been announced to Dr Kenneth CHATFIELD, told me when I spoke to her yesterday. June is a daughter of Mr and Mrs F. R. Roberts, of Brighton, and she is a physiotherapist at the Alfred Hospital. Her fiance graduated last week. They met some years ago at the University.

June Edna, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank L. Roberts, Jumna, Kent ave, Elwood, was married to Dr Kenneth George CHATFIELD, only son of Mr and Mrs G. F. CHATFIELD, Preston, at Christ Church, South Yarra. The bride wore a heavy white moire gown with Juliet cap of tulle, from which fell a long tulle veil. She was attended by Misses Joy Crow and Margaret Wilson.
