Narrative

My father, Ernest A. CHATFIELD, was a good man, a good Paperhanger, who loved to fish and hunt. He had some bad habits which led to his early demise. He died in Los Angeles, Calif, his body was cremated due to deterioration. He was not a religious man, but was honest and trustworthy in all things. He came to SLC Utah on a motorcycle in 1919. He met my mother and they were married in 1920. He was well liked and had a good personality. He enjoyed staying out late, playing poker, smoking, and drinking alcohol. These activities got him in trouble physically many times. Before he came to Utah he attended classes at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Written by son Norman V. Chatfield.
