While I did not get to spend much time with my father, I was 11 at the time of his death and he worked two jobs. I was priviledged to have enjoyed a one week fishing trip to Canada with him in August of 1954 (one month before his death). He had recently built a new home for us in the Mountain View section of Syracuse. There were not the wrongful death suits then that we see now and growing up it was difficult for us as my mother was a teacher and times were hard. Choosing to work in goverment service, I followed in his career field through the example he set for me.
