MEBANE - Our beautiful boy died peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 11, 2011. Jaxson came into this world on March 17, 2011, and changed our hearts forever with his sweet, calm spirit. While we mourn the loss of his gentle presence, Heaven has gained an angel. We know that Jaxson is with Jesus now, happy forever. Jaxson brought so much joy to his family and friends during his short time with us. He especially loved to snuggle with his daddy, giggle to his momma's kisses and tickles and he adored his sister Zoey, watching and laughing as she entertained him with her playful antics. Jaxson's last day with his family was filled with love and pride as he finally sat up by himself for the first time and even crawled a couple steps!
Jaxson is survived by his parents, Jesse and Kristin Chatfield; his sister, Zoey Chatfield; grandparents, Sammy and Laura Lankford, John Macias and Jenna Oke, Marilyn and Steve Dean; great-grandparents, Ray and Bernice Harclerode, Henry and Margaret Lankford, Bill and Pat CHATFIELD, Mary Morris and Roy Macias; aunts and uncles, Lindsay and Rob Hollingsworth, Michael CHATFIELD, Noah Macias, Kyle and Brittany Bailey and Rachel Lankford; grand-aunt Kim Jasper and "Nanny" Linda Wager; and cousins, Hannah Betts, Kelsey and Kaitlin Hollingsworth.
The family would like to thank the EMS and medical staff at DePaul ER, the staff at the Courtyard Marriot in downtown Norfolk for their efforts and support during this time. We especially thank the U.S. Navy and especially Gwen Watson, John Johnson and Commander Herman for the visit and support.
Visitation will be at McClure's Funeral Home in Mebane, N.C., on Monday, Aug. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a procession from the funeral home to Hebron UMC on Tuesday, Aug. 16, beginning at 1 with services beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a graveside service with special balloon release in celebration of Jaxson's 149 days of life with his family.
