Article says MARINA whereas grave says MARIA. Also shows birth as 1845 instead of 1854. Stone was made many years after Marina's death and is in error.

Was a teacher.
Was married 8 years before having children due to her poor health.

In 1887 Marina was faced with foreclosure on a mortgage negotiated through Mesrs Jarvis Conklin & Co.
She was trying to get another loan to pay off the mortgage. The homestead also was mortgaged to Read's Bank and this debt also needed to be paid. There was no property in the estate that could be sold to pay debts except two horses. Homestead was tract of land N.W.1/4 of section 4 Twsp 33, Range 3, East Cowley county.

Marina had another child just before she died. He is listed with the other children 2 Jan 1889: Viola CHATFIELD, 14 years old, Florence 12, Frank 10, Howard & Harlow Chatfield each 7 years and Emma 4 years old.: ----Chatfield about three weeks old. Their P.O. Address Milan, Sumner, KS. Someone had later altered a guardian letter to indicate Harlow had died and baby had only lived 2 weeks. Source: Jesse's Civil War Pension

Jesse and Marina are suppose to be buried Tannehill Cemetery, but they are not included on the cemetery index.
