SYMES - CHATFIELD.
Two bridesmaids in pale mauve satin frocks made an effective foil for the bride, Miss Violet Maud Chatfield (second daughter of Mrs. Florence Ann Chatfield nee King and the late Mr. George Chatfield) at her wedding to Mr. Leonard Gordon Symes (second son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Symes, Nanango) at St. Andrew's Church of England, Lutwyche, on April 11. The Rev. Brown Beresford officiated, and a vocal solo was rendered by Mr. W. Hughes. Mr. W. J. Adams gave away the bride, whose frock of white bridal satin was made with long Bishop sleeves. Her tulle veil, lent by Mrs. J. Auld, was worn with an orange blossom halo on silver lace.
The frocks of the bridesmaids, Misses Edna and Eva Chatfield were cut on Grecian lines, and they added mauve and violet tulle hats. Messrs. George Oldmeadow and Eric Hardy acted as best man and groomsman respectively. A reception was held at the Australian Hotel, where the bride's mother, who received the guests, wore grey metalasse relieved with navy and a navy hat. Brown floral mariette with a hat to tone was the choice of the bridegroom's mother. On leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent touring the Northern Rivers and visiting Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Mrs. L. G. Symes wore a navy blue coat and skirt of metalasse relieved with dusky pink collar and cuffs stitched in navy, with a navy hat to tone.
