Phebe Partridge was born in Worthington, Massachusetts. The family removed about 1820 to Allegany Co. (now Wyoming) New York. She was the daughter of John L. Partridge of Middlefield, Massachusetts and Roxanna Loveland, born in Hebron, Connecticut. She married George Washington Dennis ca 1821 in Wyoming County, New York.
A tin type photo of Phoebe she appears to be of medium size, wore a rather tight fitting basque waist dress, a lace bonnet and was a very nice looking woman." Family descripltion said she had red hair and had blue eyes, was of English descent and was quite sharp spoken and very precise.
