OBIT: Maurice Leicester CHATFIELD (MNZM, JP)
Departed this life on 23 November 2018. A much loved husband of the late Susan and the late Judy. A dearly loved father and father-in-law of Leicester and Carol, Gregory and the late Sally, Murray and Robyn. A treasured grandfather of Michael and Shelley, Timothy and Simone, Lucy and Ben, Amy, Kate and Blake, Andrew, Rachel and Daniel. Great-grandfather of Olive and stepfather to Christine, Julie and Vivienne. A larger than life man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thanks to the staff of Edmund Hillary Retirement Village for their care and assistance. A celebration of Maurice's life will be held at St Aidan's Church, 5 Ascot Ave, Remuera, Auckland, on Thursday 29 November 2018 at 11.30am.

Maurice CHATFIELD, born and raised in Morrinsville, attended Auckland University, studying Commerce. Maurice started his career in the Inland Revenue Department and in 1964 went into private practice. He is a member of the College of Chartered Accountants, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and is a Foundation Member and Fellow of the New Zealand Trustees Association. He lends a lot of his spare time to charities, from youth hostels to the arts, and in 1999 received the Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
