Sarah Ann Hill Armstrong Stevens was the daughter of Matthew Armstrong, an immigrant from Ireland who may have been born in the border country of Scotland. Her mother was a Hill, possibly Elizabeth Hill. Her tombstone reads, "Mrs. S.H. Petitt, formerly Mrs. S.H. Stevens". Sarah Ann was the wife of Auguston Stevens, whose grave is next to hers. She married a Mr. Petitt sometime after 1850, following the death of her first husband, Auguston, in May of 1849.
