Heinrich (Henry) Kraper
Henry Kraper, Sr., a prominent German citizen, of Washington precinct, died on Sunday evening last, Nov 1st 1896, at 9 o'clock in the evening, of typho-malarial fever. Mr. Kraper was born at Friedewalde, in Prussia, Germany, May 3rd 1821, hence he was 75 years, 5 months and 28 days old. He came to the USA in 1846 settling first at Cincinnati where he was married to Charlotte Baaden(Baade) in 1848. To them 12 children were born, 5 of whom are deceased and 7 are living. The sons are William, John, Henry and Fred Kraper. The daughters are Mrs. Louise CHATFIELD, Mrs. Anna Walbright and Amelia Craig, all of whom live in this county, excepting Mrs. Craig, who lives in the Indian Territory(now OK). Of Mr. Kraper's brothers and sisters, none are living, except Mrs. Thos. Brannon, of the county. The funeral occurred on Wednesday, Nov 4, at Zion's Church in Benton precinct. Services by Pastor Westerman. The family requested to tender the sincere thanks of the friends of the deceased for the great kindness exhibited at this sad dispensation.
