Mrs. Clara Doxey, wife of William L. Doxey, died this morning, following an operation at her residence, 588 Park place, where her funeral services will be held on Monday, the Rev. Dr. John F. Carson, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, officiating. The interment will be in Evergreens Cemetery.
Mrs. Doxey was born on South Second street, in the Eastern District, and was for many years a member of the old New England Congregational Church on South Ninth street, and later was connected with the Lee Avenue Congregational Church. Her husband is well known in the publishing business in Manhattan. She is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Henry W. Chatfield; a sister, Mrs. Virginia De Nyse of Red Bank, N.J., and a brother, Oscar Carpenter of Washington, D.C. --The Brooklyn Daily Eagle (Brooklyn, N.Y.); Friday, 16 Apr 1915; pg. 3, col. 2
